Calvin and Hobbes & catching the bus...

Last night the boys and I read Calvin and Hobbes for hours.

Then we turned some music real loud and made cookies.

Yes, they got to bed late--but not too late and it was so worth the fun time.

We played a matching game that took up the entire rug.

It got a little boring after a while.....that many little matching cards.

So we started turning over 10 at a time:)

This was my favorite Calvin and Hobbes we read last night.

It's a Mother's Day card Calvin made for his mom--and it is HILARIOUS! This morning we had a laid back time of eating whatever and letting the kids eat school lunch so no lunches needed to be made. David and Ryan were pretty sure they were supposed to wear their Sunday best to school today but they didn't remember for sure. So Ryan decided to wear his and David chose not to. When I took the to their bus stop, because it rained last night and I didn't want mud all over Ryan's Sunday shoes, everyone was in their Sunday best. So David and I drove home as fast as I dared and David changed as fast as is humanly possible. Then we drove back to the bus stop as fast as we could safely go. Two cars were right behind the bus, so I had to stop behind them. The bus was just pulling out when I stopped--this was the last stop so it's not like I could drive to a different one and beat the bus there. It was David catch it or I drive him to Ephraim myself. He hopped out of the car right when I came to a stop and ran as fast as he could, which is pretty fast. I was sure the driver wouldn't see him. But luck was with us today! The bus stopped and David ran on:) Poor boy was probably dieing. I was laughing my head off. That was a good way to start my day:) It's the very first time--as a parent at least--that I have had to chase the bus down. So FUNNY!
