I feel like I'm doing a juggling act act now.
I need help........really, lots of it.
How do you teach your kids that prioritizing is a good thing?
How do you teach them not to procrastinate?
David, Jason, Jared, and even Kevin have been done with their chores for hours.
Ryan, hasn't really even started yet. Sure, he had basketball for a little over an hour, but really.....really?!
I'm trying to find a balance in teaching my kids the importance of keeping things clean. Cooking. Serving others. And yet at the same time playing and being kids, enjoying every minute of summer.
The last thing I want is for my 5 boys to grow up thinking that everything is handed to them. Feeling like the are entitled to whatever they want. That they deserve things.
I want them to grow up knowing that they work for what they get. Knowing how to work. Knowing that if they just get in and get the job done, there will be plenty of time to play and have fun. And even knowing that work can be play if you go at it with the right attitude.
I look at my boys and see future husbands and dads. I want them to be able to come home from work and see their wife sitting on the couch with kids all around her and know what to do right away to help her. I want them to be able to make her breakfast in bed. I want them to be able to fix their kids bikes and play with them. I want them to contribute to society--not take from it.
So how do I find the balance?
Any ideas?
