Jared loves bananas, and apples, and crepes, and pizza, and that's about all.
Yesterday he ate a banana like corn on the cob--which he also really loves but doesn't get until we have it from our garden.......which is finally coming together.See.....
Last year I didn't have enough tomatoes.
So I bought 72 plants yesterday.
Yeah, I went a little over board.
But I will have enough to bottle salsa, tomato soup, and any other tomato product I want.
And I am sure, if it's a good year, I will be advertising free tomatoes all over the place:)
Matt and Kevin planting corn.
This is what I saw when I got home from pageant practice.
Kevin was asleep when it was time to go, because he had hiked over 3 miles with David, Jason and a friend, so Matt was kind enough to stay home with him and work on the garden. I volunteered to let him go to practice, but he said my back needed a break. I'm not sure if moving, bending, squatting, and holding still in weird positions qualifies as a break to the back, but I went.
Every year I think our garden in way too big.
Then I start planting and am sure it's way too big.
Then I run out of room to plant everything I want, so I think it's not big enough.
Then we start weeding, and it's way too big.
Then I harvest all the food, and it's just the right size, maybe.
Then, after a few weeks of canning season ending, I look at all my food neat and clean in bottles and think it's not big enough.
This year, I think I'm going to call it big enough no matter what.
That's my goal at least.
Now I'm off to plant the rest of the garden.....
Have a great day!
