We also took in a few sites that weren't related to LDS Church history. These pictures are outside the Harry S. Truman museum in front of a replica of the Liberty Bell. Inside we got to see an exact replica of the oval office and a few other fun things.
We also took the boys to the Community of Christ "Temple"--the snail, or better known as the ice cream cone building. It was fun to hear their comparrison with it to the Draper Temple experience. It was also interesting to hear their view points on Joseph Smith, since they are a break off. We spent a lot of time at the visitors center there in Indepence and a few other sites in that area. All of which I captured pretty well on video, but not camera! Oh well.
One thing I want to remember is Jason's question while in the C.ofC. temple, he raised his hand and asked, "Is this really a temple?" He just didn't understand why the Draper Temple looked and felt the way it did, and this one didn't. We sat on the lawn outside the visitors center and talked about that for a while and each boys gave their insight. It was a great experience to have them teaching each other and finding the answers themselves.
