First Stop...Liberty Jail

We found this while walking around old town Liberty, MO. It's diagonally across the street from the jail and is where Alexander Doniphan lived. You can read about him below.
It was neat to see where he lived in comparison to the jail.

This was so neat to be able to see, and there was a very peaceful feeling while we were there.
The Jail is actually inside a visitors center. It is still the original floor, but has been used as many things over the years. It was a home for along time, and the basement (jail part) was used as an ice house--it was that cold! As you can see, Kevin had a hard time holding still and enjoyed the walls.
Because we went in the off season, we had to deal with changes in weather. One day it would be really warm, the next it would be really cold and a little rainy. But, we also got one on one attention from all of the missionaries because we were some of the only people visiting--or at least their weren't so many that we couldn't take all the time we wanted and ask lots of questions.

  1. What a neat feeling to be there and take it all in. That is crazy how cold it is in there.
