It has been brought to my attention that I might want to rethink my parenting.
And I'm not really in the best mood right now---so you may just want to skip this post all together :)
Last week while there were 6 or 7 or 8 (I really don't know) women at my house making Salsa and Tomato Soup, Kevin came running into the house, grabbed a butter knife, and went running outside with it. I stopped him and asked what he was doing.
"I'm going to kill the bull dog mom!"
"Bull dog?"
"Yeah. Hurry, I gotta go kill the bull dog."
(It should be known that there were a few kids over who are just sure all dogs are bad and won't go anywhere near them.)
Sigh, Pause, Sigh......"OK Kev, just bring the knife back when you are done."
All of the women looked at me like I was CRAZY!
I said, "What, it's a butter knife...and there's not really a dog out there anyway."
I walked outside to prove my point.....Kev was waving the knife at the shed--a butter knife!---and all the scared kids were cheering him on.
I was just fine with his time being spent that way.
They all understood better why I was a mother of boys---or at least that's what they said.
This is Ryan a few weeks ago...
He was helping me with laundry:)
And yesterday was the final low in my parenting.
There was a Priesthood Fireside for Matt, Ryan, & David.
After they left I went outside to check on my younger three.
Jason had a BB-gun killing grasshoppers.
Jared was picking the seeds out of the sunflowers so I could season and dry them.
And Kevin.....well he was in his undies, black Sunday socks, with a hatchet in hand to chop all the grasshoppers Jason shot.
That's when I knew that I should probably rethink my parenting....someday I might have neighbors who report me as some form of child abuse.
But really......it was SO cute!
