For those of you who have been to my home--any of my homes--you know that I always have all of my children in the same room.
I only have boys, 5 of them, and the first 4 were all 19-24 months apart.
They have always loved talking and laughing with each other after we turn their lights out.
They comfort each other.
Kevin, my 2 year old, does a lot better with lots of brothers around him to make him feel good.
I have lots of reasons for them all sharing a room.
As a result, I have 3 rooms that are hardly used in my home--except for during pageant time.
Well, Ryan and David are getting older.
And it's been a pain putting Kevin to bed at the same time they are trying to study their scriptures. How can a Mom argue with that?! Turn the light out so your brothers can sleep (Jared & Jason are always ready for bed when Kevin is) or read your scriptures.
So, at the beginning of summer I suggested that they move into the "girls" room.
I know, I don't have a girl--but we are trying to adopt and have always known we would have a girl, so when we built our home, we put a girls room in. I painted it orange. I love it in there!
Ryan & David said "No way!"
I talked about it all summer off and on.
At the beginning of each school year we have a tradition of trading beds.
That way no one is always on the top bunk, or the bed that's not a bunk, or by the window, etc.
And the entire room gets cleaned and de-junked (the best part about it!).
So, I finally got R & D to agree to try the "orange" room (Matt explained to me quietly one night I would never get them to move into it if I kept calling it the girls room).
They love it! And I love it! And Jason & Jared & Kevin love it! Matt even loves it!
Only catch is that I promised I would paint it camo also--eventually.
This is only 4 of the beds--I couldn't fit them all in the pic.

I'm also hoping this will reduce fighting when I say clean your room.
And as for when we are finally able to have the miracle adoption in our lives--I have other rooms they can move to. The baby would be in my room for the first year anyway.
