David is another year older....

David eating at the restaurant of his choice. He's so cute!
We Started a new tradition with our boys this year. The idea came from my parents--they did it with us when I was little, not every year, but enough to give me memories.
Each child gets to pick where to eat and go on a dinner date with Mom & Dad.
I couldn't wait for David's birthday! Jason choose pizza. Jared wanted McDonald's (for the play land) and was nice enough to have Kevin come along and play with him. David wanted Chinese from Snow Dragon--my favorite! I almost always have Matt take me there when we go on dinner dates. You see, there really aren't many choices here in Sanpete. Fast food mostly. But even when we go out of town to eat, I always end up missing Snow Dragon--it's just the best! And they always give you TONS of food. So I always bring my left overs home for David. He loves them! Needless to say, he loved this meal and savored all of it. Yum--good times.
I should also note that eating out is not a regular thing in our home. So the boys all plan their dinner date, thinking about it for months before hand. It has become the highlight of their birthdays. The only thing he wanted for his birthday gift.
An airsoft gun.
Like he doesn't have enough guns already.
I'm a horrible mom and wouldn't buy it all for him. It was $40 and we don't spend that much on birthdays. I couldn't buy that for him and a $10 watch for his brothers. I try to be fair. So we made a deal--he would pay for half of it. He didn't even hesitate--it took all the money he had, but it was worth it. I felt guilty and threw the bb's for it in, all on my half of the bill--so it wasn't really 50-50, but he knows when he wants for ammunition--he pays for all of it. That has helped with the motivation of picked the bb's up after he shots them and reusing them. They are glow in the dark so he gets most of them at night after the lights go out.
We are so blessed to have our little David. 11 years now--wow! How time flies!
