Me a man...me a man!

(Sorry, no fun pics--camera still missing. And we had a total blast on our camping trip. Just Matt, the boys, and Me. Exactly what we all needed for 3 days. I made the best dutch oven chicken I have ever had. Call me if you want the recipe. :))
It's done--officially. (Now watch--he'll have an accident!)

I've been prepping myself up for a few months-telling myself that after Pageant is over I'm going to potty train Kevin. And dreading it like crazy. Kevin has been so challenging in so many different ways that I wasn't sure I really ever wanted to potty train him.
So, I came home from my little trip to Manila and Vernal and thought--here we go.
I bribed him the Monday night after I got home and all the laundry was done and house cleaned FHE just ending.
"Kev, Mommy will buy you a candy bar if you will sit on the toilet and go potty"
You see, I haven't ever even been able to get him to sit on the toilet, he's been too afraid.
So, he sat on his cool little bug seat and went!!!! :)
Of course we did a little dance and lots of high fives and big boy cheers.
Then the next day he wore cool underwear and did a great job--only 2 accidents. Sweet!
He didn't poop all day--which is weird for him, he's usually several times a day.
Next day, some friends came over to play and I think he only made it to the toilet twice!
Oh man!
I finally put him in just a t-shirt and sent him outside.
He pooped on the deck.
His biggest challenge is that he won't go potty unless he decides to--it doesn't work to have me tell him to try going. It was going to happen on his terms. So, I'm thinking--here we go for the long run. Another Jared experience is staring me in the face.
Next day--no accidents at all!
No friends either.
Went camping Thursday, Friday, & Saturday.
Thought it would ruin all his progress.
Boy was I wrong!
2 accidents all weekend!!!
He finally figured out how to pooh somewhere other than his pants.
I put diapers on him at night-but they are always dry.
Church last Sunday he told his teachers when he needed to go, same thing this Sunday.
Lots of friends Friday and Saturday all day and Zero accidents!!!!
The cutest and best part of it all is his opinion of himself.
I was laying down next to him a few days into the potty training at nap time telling him how proud I was of him being such a big boy going potty on the toilet.
He said,
"No Mom. Me not a big boy. Me a man. Me a man."
