This is a fun picture of David trying on Kevin's coat. Great fit!
I have a routine that I like to live by religiously. However, sometimes on a really warm day, I break that routine. It's warm today--how nice! So, when I was picking the boys up from school, Ethan (our cousin) asked if David could play today. Then I got a call from a friend on my cell phone asking if some of the other boys could play. So, my routine (doing homework right after school) was broken. I dropped Ryan, Jason, and Jared off at a friends. Then David came home, cleaned his bathroom (which by the way, he is the best bathroom cleaner ever) and then rode his bike to Ethan's house. But, on the way home this is the little conversation we had. Just a little side note, David is my boy who always, always says some of the funniest things. He's been this way his entire life! When he was just 2 he had some pretend purple monkeys that he would carry around with him everywhere, they even potty trained with him. They stuck around for over a year and were nice because they said he fit right in his pocket. So now, we like to call some of his conversations his "purple monkeys". (Like the time he was positive that his sore nose, that was cause from a cold, was because Hannah (a friend) had snuck into our home at night and cut his nose with a butter knife. But that's another story.)
David, "Okay Mom, just so you know, no friends tomorrow or anything. It's got to be straight home from school and valentines box and my poster. Nothing else."
Me; "Really, why?"
David; "Because I don't want to put it off any more and have a dark rainy cloud hanging over my head."
Me; "Oh?"
David; "You know what I mean, the rain would be all the worry."
Now, I know that I procrastinate with things, but these two things are optional, and not even due until the 11th! Oh David, I love you and all your purple monkeys!
That is funny. Maybe he has heard "a silver lining in the clouds" before! They had a good time today.
